A story of loss. Losing a spouse
"Late January of 2022 I lost my husband in a blink of an eye. One moment he was eating lunch and fifteen minutes later Jesus came to get him. His body was trembling, his cheeks were a beautiful pink, his eyes big and blue like I remembered him 50 years ago. He was trembling as I covered him with a warm quilt and hugged him and told him he looked so handsome as I stroked his head. within 10 minutes the ambulance came, they knew him and asked him what's up buddy. He lifted his head looked at me still with that beautiful face closed his eyes his head dropped and his hands went limp. I know Jesus and the angels were there and prepared him to go with them, but they never prepared me. I knew because of my faith the lord would guide me, and he certainly has. I knew he could not go on suffering like he did so the only comfort I had was knowing he was at peace and hurting no more. The comfort I have comes from our family cats Gigit and Krikit, my husband's pride and joy. The comfort I find really comes from my church family and friends. I know and understand the process of life, and that we are all here on borrowed time. We are all God's children until he calls us home. I certainly have my moments especially this time of the year with his birthday next week and then Christmas but we will celebrate as we always have done. He loved Christmas. It is ones choice to move forward or to live in the past, and I take baby steps but I find myself making great strides to the future. If you can't change a situation than you have to leave it behind you."
