The sad day had come to put the sweet boy down to his resting place. Bodie was a special horse, he lived on our farm for twelve years. It was my young daughter's first horse, I recall the day she first saw him he was quite stunning, he had black skin, dark shining eyes, with white markings.
From the moment she leaped on him and took her first gallop I knew that she fell in love with him. As I watched the two of them circle around the arena, Bodie's silky mane and my daughter's up down motion the bond was created.
Bodie quickly became part of the family. They spent countless hours together riding, grooming, feeding him treats, he brought so much joy to everyone.
Sadly, Bodie became ill despite all the efforts from the veterinarians and the care provided by my daughter's the day had come to say goodbye to our sweet boy Bodie.Finding comfort we came together and shared stories of Bodie. His tail was braided and his shoes were taken off to be placed in a shadow box which my daughter made and put onto our mantle.
We continue to talk about Bodie, thank him for being such a great loving horse.
